Ambulatory Surgery Center

The Center for Surgical Dermatology (ASC) opened in 2007.  It is an outpatient surgical center in which all procedures are done under local anesthesia.  It is utilized for the majority of the reconstructive plastic surgical procedures required for patients undergoing Mohs surgery, for excision of certain skin cancers such as malignant melanoma and for select cosmetic procedures.

When used by our surgeons, this outpatient operating setting offers patients the safest possible environment for their surgery.  Our facility is licensed and monitored by several agencies and is accredited by both Medicare and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Surgical procedures performed in this setting not only have the lowest possible infection rates (our rate is less than 1%), but they also allow for the quickest postoperative recovery because of the use of local anesthesia.  Our center has met or exceeded all of the standards and regulations by which we are measured.
